TAMU Geography Endowment Organizational Group

Who We Are

TAMU Geography sits at the nexus of people, the environment and geospatial technologies used to understand the world.  Because of this unique perspective, we are positioned to not only contribute to environmental scholarship, but to translate that scholarship into real and lasting impact. Currently TAMU Geographers are studying environments from the tropics to the poles and collaborating with scholars around the University and the world to provide both baseline scientific knowledge and the expertise to influence informed policy. We study both natural and human-dominated landscapes. Current projects within Geography at TAMU aim to understand the history and role of fire in the southeastern US, the growth of urban centers around the world, the interaction of wildlife and people in semi-urban areas, how people live with hazards like hurricanes, and the importance of access to water among a variety of communities. We are a vibrant community of scholars who are committed to making a difference. We invite you to join us as we continue to advance geographic and environmental scholarship and education with a commitment to making an impact!
